Cameras and Binoculars at the ready! 

This past weekend birders and bloomers alike gathered to witness the springtime beauty of Camp Allen. Blessed with great weather, indoor and outdoor workshops covered everything from bird identification and native flower species to safari photography. Camp Allen created the Birds & Blooms Retreat 7 years ago, and the program continues to draw more bird and bloom enthusiasts each year. Some late night birders made Camp Allen the first in Texas to log observations for Global Big day. Guests and program staff eagerly await next year’s food, festivities, and fun on May 19-21, 2017.

Early morning & mid-day bird hikes yielded the beautiful shots below and the identification of over 50 bird species on property. A big thank you to our presenters and Houston Audubon Center for making the program a success!
