Camp Allen’s Back to Nature Campaign Enters Final Phase
For more than 100 years, Camp Allen has been a place where people of all ages encounter God in the beauty of creation. As a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, Camp Allen now welcomes more than 60,000 guests each year for camps, retreats, conferences, and outdoor education.
Through the Back to Nature Campaign, friends of Camp Allen have come together to strengthen this sacred place for generations to come. To date, supporters have given $10.6 million toward an $11.3 million goal, leaving just $700,000 remaining to complete the final projects.
Every project—large and small—has been guided by a shared vision: to preserve Camp Allen’s natural beauty, modernize key facilities, and expand access to the outdoors for the thousands of campers, students, families, and retreat guests who come here each year.

projects NOW underway
Bishop Quin Hotel Wing & Plaza
Construction is nearing completion on the new Bishop Quin Hotel Wing at the Conference Center. This addition will provide 34 guest rooms, expanded meeting spaces, and a beautiful outdoor plaza that connects all hotel wings and creates a welcoming hub for rest and fellowship. The grand opening is planned for January 2026.
Discovery Education Staff Lodge
Framing is underway on a new lodge that will provide year-round housing for Discovery instructors. This facility will ensure that thousands of visiting students can continue to learn and grow through hands-on outdoor education in a setting that supports the staff who serve them.
Kitchen Dock Renovation & Third Grove Lodge
In early 2026, a much-needed expansion of the main kitchen dock will improve operations and delivery flow for our dining and hospitality teams. Following this, construction will begin on a third Grove Lodge to serve as home base for college-aged senior staff in the summer and as flexible lodging for families and small groups year-round.
