Camp Allen’s Back to Nature Campaign Enters Final Phase
For more than 100 years, Camp Allen has been a place where people of all ages encounter God in the beauty of creation. As a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, Camp Allen now welcomes more than 60,000 guests each year for camps, retreats, conferences, and outdoor education.
Through the Back to Nature Campaign, friends of Camp Allen have come together to strengthen this sacred place for generations to come. To date, supporters have given $11 million toward an $11.5 million goal, leaving just $500,000 remaining to complete the final projects.
Every project—large and small—has been guided by a shared vision: to preserve Camp Allen’s natural beauty, modernize key facilities, and expand access to the outdoors for the thousands of campers, students, families, and retreat guests who come here each year.

projects NOW underway
With the finish line in sight, our focus is now on completing the remaining pieces of the campaign:
- Kitchen Dock Renovation
Phase one of the kitchen dock expansion is complete, with concrete poured and the foundation set. The next phase—covered loading areas and expanded kitchen space—will take place this summer. - Third Grove Lodge
Following completion of the kitchen project, construction will begin on a third Grove Lodge. This space will serve as summer housing for college-aged senior staff and as flexible lodging for families and small groups throughout the year.
