nature trails
Camp Allen features 5 miles of trails throughout its 1,100 acre property. Utilize the trail map and guide below to determine your hiking plans.
Marked Trails:
The following trails are marked with a trail blaze (small colored circular signs with arrows) every 20-40 feet with colors unique to that specific trail. Their trail blaze colors are listed below:
- Magnolia Trail: blazed in blue. The Meditation Trail is an extension of the Magnolia Trail and has no blaze markers.
- Brindley Trail: blazed in green.
- Hike and Bike Trail: blazed in red. This trail is an out and back trail that is approximately 1 mile in length. It has moderately difficult terrain and changes in elevation.
- Big Oaks: blazed in orange. This trail is unique in that you can traverse from the conference center area all the way down to Lake Coffield.
Conference Center Trails:
- Trails accessible from the Conference Center are marked in brown on this map.
- Kelly Trail: marked in brown on the map. This is another unique trail and is marked only by the trailhead sign. This trail is not marked with blazes but is an easy .25 mile hike that will take the hiker from the main camp road to a beautiful meditation area overlooking Lake Coffield. It is the most accessible of our trails and is stroller compatible.
Unmarked Trails:
The remainder of the trails are considered "camp" trails and are an intersecting system that will allow the hiker to wander through the property without risk of becoming lost. These trails are not marked using a blaze; instead they are marked by trailheads with a wooden post that has the trail name on them. Along each trail and at intersections, posts with the trail color corresponding to the color on your map mark your path as you travel.
