ARRIVAL DAY (Sunday)
Sunday is camper drop-off day! Check in times are staggered according to age group to reduce wait times. Families that have children at more than one campsite may choose either time slot and check-in all campers together during that time.
Click HERE for driving directions and a map to Camp Allen. When you arrive, our staff will direct you to the Pavilion to check your camper in. When you park at the Pavilion, please leave your camper’s luggage in the car, but bring any camper medication with you to check-in with the camp nurses.
Once you have completed registration at the Pavilion, you will take your camper to their designated campsite. (Click here to view a property map.) Our session directors and counselors will unload your camper’s belongings curbside and move them into their cabin. While we strive to accommodate as many cabin-mate requests as possible, cabin assignments are ultimately made to best suit the needs of the camp session as a whole, and are not guaranteed. No cabin requests will be taken on Registration Day.
Camp Allen has a strict no-pet policy. While we know that pets are an important part of your family, we kindly ask that furry friends do not come along to registration. This will help keep our property beautiful, and more importantly, our campers and your pets safe.

- If your camper arrives after 5:15 PM, report to the Camper Health Center (located by the Campsite 1 entrance).

Individuals designated as parents within a camper’s profile will automatically be authorized to pick up campers; if a different individual is picking up your camper, be sure to add that person as an authorized pickup within the registration system. When you pull into the campsite, families will be directed to a drive-through line, where happy campers (and all their dirty laundry) will be loaded into your car by our team. We ask that families remain in their vehicles during check-out.

CAMPER PHOTOS
Camper parents can view and download camper pictures by visiting our free online gallery at HERE. Click on the camper photos icon and enter the privacy code "PINEYWOODS26" to gain access. Please note that the number of session photos will vary depending on whether and camper activity schedules. While there will probably not be a photo of your camper posted every single day, you will likely see your camper’s smiling face a few several times throughout the week.
While access to the entire session's photo gallery is free, Camp Allen's photo hosting service, Waldo, offers a facial recognition filtering upgrade for a $10 fee. This (optional) service matches your camper's face to photos in our album, and then sends them to you via text messages. Please note that there is not a guaranteed quantity of photos per camper. thursday DANCE THEME
Every Thursday night this summer we will be headed to one GROOVY NIGHT! Get ready to boogie! Think disco balls, flower power, and all things groovy. Bell bottoms, tie-dye, fringe, funky patterns, headbands, peace signs, platform-style shoes, and lots of glow fit right in. Bright colors and retro flair are encouraged! The dance is held outdoors, so please be sure outfits are modest and appropriate for warm summer weather. Need ideas? Tie-dye shirts, bell-bottom–style pants or shorts, funky sunglasses, flower crowns, headbands, peace sign accessories, neon face paint, glow necklaces, and bracelets are all great ways to join the theme.
Costumes and themed attire are optional. And if dancing isn’t your camper’s jam, we’ve got plenty of alternatives with basketball, gaga ball, and board games so everyone can have fun.

In an effort to create an atmosphere where campers do not feel excluded, and to reduce expenses/ logistics for parents, care packages are not permitted. All camper mail must fit into a 6x9” envelope. Please make sure all mail includes the camper's first and last name along with their session name and number. It can be delivered to Camp Allen in either of the following ways:

Family and friends can purchase ($1.00) and send one-way emails to campers throughout their week of camp HERE. Emails received after 10:00 AM will be delivered to your camper the following day. The deadline for email submission each week is 4:00 PM Friday.

- Registration Day Drop-Off: Simply bring your child’s letters to Registration at the Pavilion. There will be designated mail bins for each day of the week. Be sure to include your camper’s full name, and their Week and Age Group (example - Week 2 Primary) on every item of mail.
- Postal Mail: We encourage loved ones to postmark letters before the actual session begins, or no later than Monday, to ensure the camper receives it in time. Any large packages received in the mail will not be delivered to the camper, but can be picked up by the designated pick-up person at campsite checkout on Saturday. Letters should be addressed as follows: Camper’s Name- Week Number & Age Group, Camp Allen, 18800 FM 362, Navasota, TX 77868

camper medications
Please read carefully before registration day; these guidelines will save your family considerable time and effort. Please note that vitamins, melatonin, and ALL types of medication must be turned into the nursing staff on registration day.
Note: Please ensure that you review these instructions thoroughly and comply with all the requirements to facilitate a smooth registration process at Camp Allen.
- Prescription medication MUST be in the original pharmacy container. The label must include the camper's name, the name of the medication, specific dosage directions, a valid date on the bottle within the current year, and the physician's name. Medication will be administered as written on the bottle. If there is a change in the dose amount, please have your doctor send a note on an RX pad or letterhead adjusting the dose to be administered.
- Inhalers, Epi-Pens, and prescription nasal sprays MUST be in the original container. These items should be in their original box or individually labeled by the pharmacy, and must include your camper's name and dosage directions.
- Sample medication must be accompanied by a physician's note. Your doctor's note should include the camper's name, the name of the medication, dosage directions, a valid date within the current year, and the physician's name.
- Expired medication cannot be accepted on registration day. Please check the expiration date on all medication bottles, Epi-Pens, inhalers, and any over-the-counter medication brought to camp.
- Natural, herbal, and homeopathic products MUST be accompanied by a physician's note. These products are not FDA approved, and our medical team cannot distribute them without an accompanying note. The doctor's note must be dated for the current year and indicate permission to administer the product. Please ask the physician to include the camper's name, the name of the product, and the amount to be administered.
- Over-the-counter medication must be in the original package. If possible, we suggest sending in only enough medication to cover the week.
- Medications prescribed internationally will NOT be accepted. An exception can be made if you visit a licensed Texas physician and ask them for a detailed note indicating permission to administer this medication. Your doctor's note should include the camper's name, the name of the medication, dosage directions, a valid date within the current year, and the physician's name.

at home emergencies
Camp Allen does not allow personal phone calls or visits while camp is in session. In the event of any emergency, either physical or otherwise, the parent/guardian will be notified immediately. If a serious concern arises, contact Drew Day, Summer Camp Director, at [email protected] or 936-825-7175 to discuss the situation. If it is an after-hours emergency, please page 979-209-2125 and inform the operator that you wish to contact Camp Allen.
LOST & FOUND
If you have a personally valuable or sentimental item left behind at camp, click here to submit a lost and found inquiry. Upon receipt, our Camper Care Team will thoroughly search through lost and found items for your camper's belonging and do their best to reply within 48 hours.

- Lost and found items will only be kept by Camp Allen for one week following the end of each camp session.
- Recovered items will not be returned via mail. The Camper Care team will arrange a scheduled pick up of the returned items at the Conference Center Front Desk.
CAMP SAFETY
At Camp Allen, the safety and well-being of our campers is our top priority. Our protocols are designed not only to meet state licensing standards but to exceed them with robust infrastructure, experienced staff, and clear emergency procedures.
Camp Allen is situated on high, well-drained land and is not located within a designated floodplain. Historically, Camp Allen has even served as an emergency evacuation site during Gulf Coast hurricanes and was a dispatch center for Texas Parks and Wildlife rescue teams during previous storm responses.
Supervision and Staff Ratios
We are proud of our exceptional camper-to-counselor ratios and adult supervision structure. Each group of up to 10 campers is supervised by two trained counselors, ensuring that every child is known, seen, and supported. Within each campsite, there are at least four trained adult volunteers (age 24 and up) who have clear line-of-sight to all cabins at all times—these cabins are located closer to adult housing than to restrooms, making ongoing supervision seamless and consistent. These adult volunteers carry emergency radios that are connected to all key staff across the property. These radios operate independently of cell towers or electrical power, providing uninterrupted communication in any emergency scenario. Additionally, Camp Allen has a campus-wide outdoor alert system with backup power and connected to the National Weather Service.

Camp Allen maintains an extraordinary level of on-site medical preparedness. Residing on property throughout the summer are:

Each year, we review these plans with local emergency preparedness officials and submit them for approval with the Department of State Health Services. On arrival day, campers receive an age-appropriate safety orientation that highlights what they need to know, and our staff are well-trained on how to respond in the event of an emergency. - 32 college-aged staff members certified in First Aid, CPR, and lifeguarding
- A minimum of 3 registered nurses on-site at all times
- A certified EMT
- At least 10 full-time professional staff who live on property and are on call overnight
