welcome to camp allen!

Since 1921, Camp Allen has been a place to step away from the noise of daily life and reconnect—with nature, with one another, and with God. Rooted in the mission of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, we’re honored to host retreats, conferences, and gatherings for people from all walks of life.

Below you’ll find helpful information to make the most of your time here. Our team is dedicated to making your stay comfortable and meaningful. Thank you for being here—we hope your time at Camp Allen renews your spirit.
hotel guest safety
Your safety is our top priority. Please review the following emergency procedures:

Fire Safety
  • Know Your Exits: Locate the nearest stairwell. Do not use elevators in a fire.
  • Alarms & Extinguishers: Pull stations and extinguishers are located along hotel/conference walkways.
  • If Alarm Sounds: Exit your room, close the door, use the stairs, and go to the tennis court or Rectory Barn parking lots.
  • If You Smell Smoke: Turn off A/C, call 4000 or the posted emergency number, check conditions, and exit if safe.
  • If You Must Stay In Room: Seal doors and windows with wet towels, cover nose and mouth, fill tub/sink, and call for help.

Other Emergencies
  • Severe Weather: Go indoors to a bathroom or interior space; if no shelter, lie flat in a low area.
  • Lightning: Stop outdoor activity; seek shelter away from open areas and trees.
  • Power Outage: Use a flashlight; report downed lines; staff will provide updates.
  • Active Threat: Run if safe, hide if not, and fight only as a last resort. Follow staff instructions.

Worship opportunities
“Grace to you and peace from God!” These words open Paul’s letter to the Philippians—and they echo our prayer for you as you arrive at Camp Allen. Welcome to this sacred and peaceful place, set apart for learning, reflection, community, rest, and the worship of God. Let the quiet of this place speak to your soul. Walk the trails, pause on a bench, or sit in prayer in the Side Chapel of All Saints’ Chapel, overlooking a beautiful view of God’s creation.

Daily Worship in All Saints’ Chapel
Morning Prayer: Tuesday–Saturday at 7:30 a.m.
Evening Prayer: Monday–Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
Eucharist: Sundays at 9:00 a.m.
All baptized Christians are welcome at the Lord’s Table. Casual attire is appropriate.

Walk the Labyrinth
All Saints’ Chapel features both a canvas labyrinth indoors and an outdoor labyrinth tucked in the woods just steps away. This ancient spiritual path invites quiet reflection, prayer, and renewed focus.

Chaplain-in-Residence
An Episcopal clergy or lay chaplain is on-site weekly to lead worship and offer spiritual support. The chaplain is available after services for prayer or conversation.

This includes electric scooters (excluding those used for guests with a mobility disability), e-bikes, electric-powered skateboards, hoverboards, and self-balancing scooters. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of our guests, staff, and facilities.  Devices may not be stored, operated, or charged in guest rooms, meeting spaces, or any other facility on campus. Failure to comply with this policy may result in the device being held for the duration of the stay or, in more serious cases, dismissal from the property without refund.  Guests are encouraged to enjoy Camp Allen’s walking paths, nature trails, and the use of traditional bicycles, which are welcome on the property.  Camp Allen does not provide charging stations for electric vehicles.
