Established in 1921, Camp Allen today is a nationally recognized recreational, educational, and spiritual retreat center. With an eye to the future we have established the Centennial Fund for Sustainability which will keep the camp in a strong leadership position for the years to come. The Board of Trustees has identified twenty-one projects to be completed over the next three years. The projects are divided into two categories: projects aimed at expanding Camp Allen’s capacity, and projects focused on further improving operations. We invite you to participate in our Centennial Fund and help make the vision of Campsite 4 and remaining campaign projects a reality. Your support will enable Camp Allen to continue to be a safe and inspirational destination for our 65,000 annual guests.
The Centennial Fund's 21 project campaign focusing on improvements designed to increase capacity and improve operations is now in its final phase. With the majority of the projects complete, our campers and guests are already experiencing the benefits of the restoration, preservation, innovation the campaign has made across the facilities and property at Camp Allen. The final and perhaps the most exciting project, Campsite 4, will have the biggest impact on increasing our capacity to serve more children and visitors. After years of planning and dreaming alongside Studio Red Architects, Paradigm Construction is now hard at work on the Bishop Doyle Center at Campsite 4. This impressive 22,000 square foot facility will contain an all-camp dining hall with seating for 500, commercial kitchen, director's quarters, large porches, and programming areas. We anticipate the construction will be completed by November 2020, and plan to welcome our first summer campers at Campsite 4 in 2021.
Since its inception, the Centennial Fund has been anchored as the Campaign for Sustainability. This phrase could not
be more poignant than it is during this season as we navigate the repercussions of COVID-19. Your faithful and
generous support of Camp Allen and the Centennial Fund has helped ensure the camp’s sustainability so that it will
continue to be a place that God uses to change lives and build leaders, just as it has been doing for a century. We are
humbled to announce campaign commitments of over $13.5 million to date. We are grateful to the foundations, families, and individuals who have believed in our mission, and given to the campaign in such impactful ways.
